Welcome to my violin pages! When I was just a little girl, I heard a fine teenage violinist at a performance at an acquaintance's house. This teenager was the now world famous Joshua Bell, and it is my earliest memory of the lush, sensitive, and warm tones that are possible from a violin. I fell in love with the wooden instrument right away. I have been lucky to be taught by amazing teachers in my life. My very first teachers were Dr. Daniel Schumann, and the gypsy flair of Stephen Wolosonovich in high school and Lenuta Ciulei in college shaped my gypsy playing into what it is today. I owe so much to them.
Though I was trained primarily in the Russian classical style, I enjoy playing celtic and bluegrass pieces as well, and do so often. I also enjoy the sensitivity and highly nuanced baroque music. Solo work is near and dear to my heart, but there is nothing like being in a huge orchestra surrounded by the bold tones of the brass, the delicate winds, and the powerful timpani. Some of my fondest memories are from college, when I was a part of Rutgers Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Kynan Johns. I enjoy smaller ensemble work as well, and am happy to be a part of the Amelia Quartet, founded in 2015 by my dear friend and accomplished violinist Amelia Muccia.
